Responsibilities:
- Receive, enter, and process prescriptions according to protocols:
You’ll be responsible for managing incoming prescriptions, accurately entering them into the system, and following the company's specific guidelines and procedures for processing them. This may involve verifying prescription details, ensuring they meet regulatory standards, and preparing them for fulfillment.
- Review medical documentation from healthcare providers:
You will need to examine documents sent by healthcare providers (e.g., doctors or hospitals) to ensure that all necessary information is present and accurate. This could include verifying dosages, medication types, patient information, and other clinical details.
- Understand Blink Health products for pharmacy assistance:
Gaining an understanding of the company’s products (likely related to medication management or patient services) will help you assist customers and pharmacists effectively. This knowledge will help in resolving issues or providing accurate advice regarding prescription products and services.
- Resolve open orders in collaboration with Pharmacists and Customer Experience team:
You will be working with pharmacists and the customer service team to resolve any issues related to pending or incomplete orders. This may involve communicating with patients, confirming prescription details, or troubleshooting any order issues.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and legal regulations:
Your work must adhere to safety guidelines, corporate policies, and federal and state laws governing pharmacy operations. This includes handling medications safely, ensuring patient privacy (HIPAA compliance), and following pharmacy best practices.
- Collaborate with management and pharmacists:
As part of a team, you’ll need to communicate effectively with management and pharmacists, contributing to a smooth workflow and ensuring that tasks are completed in a timely manner.
Other duties as assigned:
Being flexible is key in this role; you may be asked to perform other pharmacy technician-related tasks as needed by the team or organization.
Requirements:
- 1+ years of Pharmacy Technician or related experience:
A minimum of one year of experience working as a Pharmacy Technician (or in a similar role) is required. This ensures familiarity with pharmacy processes, terminology, and standards.
- PTCB or NHA certification (or willingness to obtain):
The Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or the National Healthcareer Association (NHA) certification is required, or you must be willing to obtain certification before joining the company. This certification ensures you meet the professional standards for a pharmacy technician and can work competently in the role.
You’ll likely be communicating with customers or other stakeholders over the phone. A strong phone presence means you should be able to speak clearly, be empathetic, and resolve issues efficiently in a customer service capacity.
- Attention to detail and accuracy:
